Flavia is originally from California, where she met her husband when they were both teenagers. She followed him back to Australia more than 30 years ago, and she and her family have since called three countries home: the US, Singapore and Australia. She now lives in Mornington with her husband, and has two adult sons.
Her career has taken her around the globe, working with international clients, which has given her a unique insight into cultures and business practices. Working in China stands out as a highlight: a terrific experience of an ancient culture and a beautiful people.
Alongside her corporate career, Flavia has trained as a Chaplain and a Counsellor, and is completing a degree in Psychology, with accreditation expected in 2028. She provides pro bono counselling on the Mornington Peninsula, supporting people in crisis.
Flavia’s hobby is houseplants, and she has a large collection. It is a love that goes back to her childhood: her dad is a commercial farmer, so she grew up around plants and the science of growing them.
At home, Flavia shares her world with two horses, Phillip and Diesel, three cats (Picasso, Dali and Warhol), and a fox terrier named Abbey. She rides, but these days she spends more time learning from the horses. Horses respond to the presence, clarity and intention a leader actually brings into the space, not to titles or words, which makes them remarkable teachers of leadership. It is an equine leadership focus that sits naturally alongside her mentoring.
