Jason is no “Ivory Tower” leader or business school theorist. His global experience across “the good, the bad and the ugly” is from over 3 decades of professional advancement from the shop-floor in a troubled Steel production plant to national and international leadership roles in professional services firms.

Jason has had plenty of career highs and lows during this journey.

Jason was not expected to get into University and once there, he certainly did not make the most of his undergraduate opportunities and left University with only a “sporting degree.” Despite these set-backs, he worked his way through Corporate leadership roles in Commercial, Sales and Technology, before advancing into the professional service world via Consulting and Advisory leadership roles, including leading practices and new growth for Tier 1 and Tier 2 firms. His professional career is evenly balanced, with half his career experience being from the northern hemisphere and the latter half operating from the southern hemisphere.

Mentoring has been continually critical to Jason’s own growth and success. Helping him to move into Technology, navigating the right path for him in professional services and eventually getting real value from higher education (including a distinction from business school).

In 2022 Jason left full-time partnership and professional services to focus on working on key passions and priorities. One such passion is specialist mentoring within a sector that he understands, where the professional development need is rapidly growing, he does add value to each leader with whom he works* and he really enjoys this role.

My wife Eimear and I have been blessed with two fantastic children in 17-year-old twins, Joe, and Caren. Life is never dull with them

In my younger years, as well as being a part-time D-J, I played representative level rugby and cricket. This extended into a career as a semi-professional rugby player – before a spinal injury abruptly ended that career chapter

I have always loved team sports, especially rugby and cricket. I now have a growing interest in Women’s football (aka soccer)

As the years have caught up with me, I have maintained my passion for team sports through coaching both rugby and cricket. Plus attending as much international rugby and cricket as possible

Travel and ski-ing are other life-long passions, although my younger brother has me well covered on the ski slopes

Travel gave me the opportunity to build valued friendships and relationships around the world. One highlight was being the best man at a wedding in Beverly Hills, USA, (which remains an unforgettable all-round experience)

I was honoured to be the first man on the Women in Technology Board in Queensland in the last decade

Both my parents were mentors throughout their professional lives

I have chosen to now focus professionally on what I enjoy and with whom I value

I genuinely thrive in a mentoring relationship
